19 years ago, the United States of America was changed forever. Two airline flights plunged into the two World Trade Center Towers killing, trapping, and injuring hundreds of people. That day American’s around the world put aside every difference they may have had and spread love and support across the nation. Strangers hugging strangers and people helping others they have never met. It was a tragic day that brought our world closer than ever before.
While we mourn and share our condolences and prayers with the victims, their families, and friends, let us remember the brave hero’s that spent weeks helping, cleaning, and recovering. Let us remember the lives lost and live for them, let their memory live on.
“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” -President George W. Bush (September 11, 2001)
Today is a day for reflection. A day to put aside differences. A day to shed a tear for humanity.
